E' un peccato però... ai tempi della mia registrazione, avendo notato questa discussione con l'apprezzabile disponibilità nel dare un consiglio per la configurazione del proprio VPS, mi sono detto che quando un giorno potrò prendere un VPS vengo qui è chiedo anch'io (a meno che non prendevo uno di cui si parlava già nel thread). Mi sa che sono arrivato tardi...

Non è che uno posta le configurazioni che ha e c'è una carta servizi in cui qualcuno deve rispondere. Quello lo si può pretendere da un sistemista pagato. Qua uno potrebbe rispondere anche dopo una settimana se decide di rubare 10 minuti ad una pausa che fa mentre lavora.

Ti ho detto che se dopo due giorni non ti ha risposto non è detto che non lo faccia, ti dico che se da dicembre nessuno ha fatto altre richieste non vuol dire nulla, ti ho detto anche che è vero pure quello che dice Wiz, basta guardare il numero di post di chi ha fatto le richieste.

l'intento di quel thread era, nelle mie intenzioni, quello di dare qualche dritta agli utenti del forum che ne avevano bisogno. Nel tempo si è trasformato qualcosa dove la gente si iscriveva solo per farsi configurare la macchina e poi andare via ... per inciso quello è il mio lavoro e non vedo perchè devo farlo gratis per qualcuno che in cambio non da' nulla ... e quando parlo di nulla intendo anche una battuta sul forum che ti strappa un mezzo sorriso ...
Quindi da un po' ho deciso di non rispondere più a quelle richieste.

Ciao Alex, scusami ma ritengo che sia proprio questo comportamento che fa andare via la gente. E comunque se c'è gente che una volta aiutata non si è fatta più sentire non vuol dire che devi negare questo tuo aiuto a tutti gli altri che vengono dopo.
Questo il mio pensiero, scusami se va in disaccordo con il tuo. Frequento altri forum tematici dove ho trovato un riscontro positivo da parte di altri utenti disponibili. E magari sono iniziato proprio con una richiesta di supporto ad un mio problema.
Io stesso sono moderatore e/o amministratore volontario di altri forum o sezioni ed il mio contributo lo do perché l'ho preso come un impegno, seppur volontario. Chiaro nei limiti delle possibilità. Poi è anche altrettanto scontato che non posso frequentare tutti i forum con una certa costanza.
In definitiva ammiro il tuo contributo ma non condivido la scelta successiva. Buona giornata.

Allora, lo so che pare incredibile, l'ho pubblicato apposta avendone l'occasione :P
- riconfigurazione server da 0 (installazione pulita, cpanel ecc.)
- installazione LiteSpeed con relativo passaggio da Apache
- altre verifiche che ora non ricordo
- tempo impiegato, qualche ora direi con una decina (anzi più) di messaggi scambiati direttamente con Nick Nelson
- l'intervento è nato col fatto che avevo problemi con LiteSpeed
I 10 dollari sono più che altro simbolici, è una loro politica commerciale. Tant'è che sono loro cliente da ormai un'anno spendendo circa 50 euro al mese, non penso di cambiare e anzi a breve prenderò un CDN sempre da loro.
Direi che è una politica valida, no?
